From a Little Island to a Little Shop

Four years ago, I arrived in Sweden and began a completely new chapter of life. My first home here was a stuga on a small island called Alnö, just off the coast of Sundsvall. Life there moved a little slower, surrounded by sea, forests, and quiet northern skies. Something about that place gently whispered that it might be time to try something new.

About half a year later, I picked up a crochet hook for the first time.

What started as a small hobby quickly became something I fell in love with. Loop by loop, knot by knot, working with cotton cord and macramé became a peaceful way to create something beautiful with my hands.

On the island I met my husband. Later while I was learning the rhythm of knots and threads, he was busy in his own creative corner, working with wood on small machines. Before long, our two crafts began to meet in the middle.

A wooden base here. A macramé pattern there. Slowly, cotton and wood started to come together in coasters, platters, and other handmade pieces where soft fibers meet warm natural grain.

Eventually, these creations found their way into a charming little handcrafters’ shop up on Norra Berget, overlooking the city of Sundsvall. The shop sits inside a beautifully refurbished old wooden wine factory, full of character and creativity. Seeing my work there, among the pieces of other makers, felt like a small dream quietly coming to life.

Every item is made slowly, thoughtfully, and with love for the craft.

Recently i took a giant leap and opened a new shop on Etsy!

Opening this Etsy shop is a bit like opening the door of that little mountain shop to the wider world. It may not have the creaky wooden floors or the cozy wooden walls, but I hope the pieces you find here carry the same warmth, care, and handmade spirit.

You can vist my etsy shop here

I'm hoping that somewhere among these threads and pieces of wood that you might be ordering, a little part of our story will find its way into your home.
